[ Hypervex vs CodeRabbit ]

The general reviewer with a security bundle

CodeRabbit tells you a pattern matched. Hypervex tells you whether an attacker could actually reach it — and shows the call chain it followed to decide.

What CodeRabbit is good at

Breadth and distribution. CodeRabbit reviews everything — style, bugs, tests, docs — bundles 40+ linters and SAST engines including Semgrep, OpenGrep, OSV-Scanner, Gitleaks and Checkov, and is installed on a very large number of open-source projects.

Pricing: Free tier · $24+/developer/month

Where CodeRabbit is stronger than Hypervex

  • Far broader review scope — style, tests, documentation, and refactor suggestions that Hypervex deliberately ignores
  • Many more bundled linters and language-specific engines
  • Multi-platform: GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Azure DevOps (Hypervex is GitHub-only today)
  • IDE and CLI presence; Hypervex is PR-time only

Hypervex is a newer, narrower product built by one engineer. These gaps are real and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Where Hypervex is different

Security is the whole job, not a rule pack

Every Hypervex finding carries severity, a 0–100 confidence score, definite-vs-potential certainty, an OWASP category and a CWE id as structured fields — not prose in a comment.

Exploitability verification, not pattern matching

The Trace escalates high-confidence critical findings to a second agent that reads the surrounding code and either confirms or dismisses exploitability. Bundling a SAST engine tells you a rule fired; it does not tell you whether the path is reachable.

Regression tracking

Hypervex flags when a vulnerability that was previously fixed reappears, tied to the PR that reintroduced it. No competitor we researched ships this.

Pick CodeRabbit if

you want one bot to review everything and security is one concern among many. Plenty of teams should — and a fair number run both.
